Kuwait City, October 26 (KUNA) – The “Kafou 2026” forum kicked off today, Monday, under the theme “From Resilience to Development: Kuwaiti Youth Shaping the Future,” as part of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season. The forum is being held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre and features multiple sessions covering security, water, food, energy, sports, health and nutrition, education, culture, arts, artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, economic development, business continuity, and the empowerment of youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

In his address, Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Sabah emphasized that this national forum embodies Kuwait’s journey marked by resilience in the face of challenges, its transition toward construction and development, and its forward-looking vision for the future. He stressed the importance of continuing this path through the determination of its people and their contributions across various fields.

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah noted that the political leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, holds a firm belief that Kuwaiti youth are the nation’s true wealth and the fundamental pillar for building its future and realizing its developmental aspirations. He added that while previous generations wrote the most splendid examples of resilience and sacrifice in protecting Kuwait and safeguarding its security and stability, today’s youth bear the responsibility of continuing this national journey by arming themselves with knowledge, innovation, and creativity, and transforming aspirations into achievements that contribute to the country’s progress and advancement.

The Governor praised the national role played by the “Kafou” platform in highlighting national talents, nurturing youth potential, supporting their skills, and providing opportunities for their active participation in societal development. He underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among various entities to empower youth and enhance their role in the nation’s construction and development.

For her part, Fatima Al-Mousawi, CEO of the “Kafou” platform, stated in a similar address that the platform was launched with the aim of empowering youth and providing them with opportunities to showcase their potential and creative talents, based on a firm belief in their capacity for excellence and active contribution to societal development. She noted that the “Kafou” platform is committed to continuously discovering youth talents, nurturing and supporting creative initiatives, and providing a suitable environment that enables young people to turn their ideas and aspirations into tangible achievements.

She added that the progress and success achieved by the platform were the result of the support and patronage it received from the Diwan Amir’s Office since its inception, which helped transform the concept into an effective platform for supporting young national talents and highlighting their creativity across various fields.

Al-Mousawi expressed her pleasure at the presence of officials and success partners from both the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and partnership among various entities to support youth initiatives and expand the horizons of opportunities available to Kuwaiti youth.

For his part, Dr. Bader Al-Saif, a history professor at Kuwait University, delivered the forum’s keynote speech, stating that the “Kafou” platform was launched from a national idea aimed at providing Kuwaiti youth with a broader space to express their aspirations and ambitions and to participate actively in shaping their country’s future.

Dr. Al-Saif recalled the platform’s early beginnings when he and a group of colleagues worked to crystallize an idea aimed at empowering youth, amplifying their voices, and providing them with opportunities to contribute to the nation’s construction and development. He added that the concept of the “Kafou” platform originated from a fundamental question about how to listen to Kuwaiti youth and give them a genuine role in shaping their country’s future, emphasizing that belief in the capabilities and potential of youth was the primary driving force behind launching this initiative.

Al-Saif expressed his satisfaction with the platform’s progress and growth since its launch, noting that it has now become a national space that brings together talented young individuals and provides them with opportunities for networking, participation, and creativity, all in service of Kuwait and the future of its coming generations.
