Kuwait City, October 25 (KUNA) — The Director of the Meteorology Department, Deputy Director Dharar Al-Ali, said that the country experienced scattered light rain showers since Sunday morning, which are expected to continue in the coming days, with chances increasing on Thursday and occasionally becoming thunderstorms, accompanied by reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate that the country will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure trough, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds accompanied by scattered light rain showers that may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds that will occasionally strengthen in some areas, noting that the chances of light rain will continue with varying intensity in the coming days.
He added that humidity will rise and remain high throughout the week, with fog forming at night, particularly in coastal and agricultural areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase on Thursday, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and wind activity.
He urged citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments. (End) Z.H.R. / A.M.H.
