Kuwait City, October 25 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs called on imams and preachers to hold the prayer for rain (Istisqa) on the morning of next Saturday in 125 mosques distributed across various governorates of the country, in observance of the noble Prophetic tradition of seeking rain from God Almighty. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry said that Acting Deputy Minister Dr. Sulaiman Al-Suwailim issued an administrative directive instructing specific mosques in the country’s governorates to hold the prayer at 10:30 a.m. It added that 125 mosques were designated in all governorates, in line with efforts to provide citizens and residents with the opportunity to perform the Istisqa prayer and to facilitate their participation by distributing the designated mosques across different residential areas. The ministry noted that the names of the mosques designated for the Istisqa prayer in various governorates would be clarified, enabling worshippers to identify the nearest mosque assigned for the prayer.
