Riyadh, 24 October (KUNA) -- The Muslim World League today condemned the terrorist Houthi militia’s targeting of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina with two ballistic missiles, parts of which were intercepted in Wadi al-Mughmas in the holy capital, while interception debris fell in areas in Jeddah and Wadi Jilal in Taif Province, and in the Mustawra area in Rabigh Province.

In a statement, League Secretary-General and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Mohammed al-Issa, said that this heinous targeting represents a continuation of the Houthi militia’s aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, extending to the Two Holy Mosques.

Al-Issa condemned the terrorist approach of the Houthi group and its audacity in launching attacks that violate the sanctity of religious sites, posing a dangerous provocation to the feelings of more than two billion Muslims and a blatant violation of the values of our noble religion and the lowest human principles by a group that calls itself “Ansar Allah,” while its actions embody a terrorist approach that violates religious sanctities and religious, spiritual, and human sentiments through a series of terrorist crimes. Such acts have nothing to do with supporting God and His Messenger; rather, they constitute betrayal of the religion and Muslims, and a departure from the guidance of God and His Messenger.

On behalf of the League’s assemblies, bodies, and its global councils, as well as the Islamic peoples under its umbrella, al-Issa renewed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggressors, safeguard the sanctity of holy sites, and protect the lives of the innocent.

He prayed to God Almighty to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its land, leadership, and people from all harm, and to grant it victory over those he described as criminals who violated the sanctities of religion and the holy sites of Muslims. (End) A.S. / M.M.J
