The home side took the lead in the sixth minute through Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, ending the first half with a goalless scoreline. Seven minutes into the second half, Norwegian forward Erling Haaland equalized for City, but Jackson returned to score his second and the team’s second in the 60th minute, securing three valuable points for his side.
