Aden, October 24 (KUNA) -- The official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, stated that the armed forces had monitored, over the past few days, instances of ballistic missile launch failures by Houthi militias, including deviations and falls into populated areas.
Al-Nazili clarified in a press statement published on his official X account on Friday evening that these incidents pose a direct threat to civilians and their property, in addition to the continued use of missiles to threaten the Bab al-Mandab Strait, international sea lanes, and the security of global navigation and trade.
He pointed out that the severity of these incidents became evident on Friday afternoon, when a ballistic missile launched by the militias from the Ayal Sayyad area in the Nahm district, on the outskirts of Sanaa province, failed to maintain its trajectory and struck the home of citizen Mohammed Al-Qusha while his family was gathered inside, resulting in the deaths of all those present and damaging an adjacent house. He noted that similar incidents have repeatedly occurred in Sanaa, Taiz, Ibb, and Saada.
The spokesperson affirmed that the Houthi militias’ missile capabilities had been subjected to strikes over the past weeks targeting missile storage facilities and launch platforms. Meanwhile, Yemeni Air Force airstrikes, coordinated with coalition strikes supporting legitimacy on military targets in Saada, resulted in the neutralization of specialized experts and field commanders responsible for operating and launching missiles.
He explained that these strikes led to a decline in the stockpiles and launch platforms of missiles, as well as their technical effectiveness, while noting the entry of new systems into service with the Yemeni Air Force, achieving successful operational results with trained national crews.
