Saudi Pro League: Al-Ittihad defeats Al-Diriyah and Al-Nassr beats Al-Faisaly

Riyadh, October 23 (KUNA) -- Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Diriyah 2-0, and Al-Nassr beat hosts Al-Faisaly 3-1 on Friday, in matches of the 11th round of the Saudi Professional League’s Roshn League.

At the Inma Stadium in Jeddah, Al-Ittihad opened the scoring through Nigerian forward George Ilenikhena in the 30th minute, before Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum added a second goal from a penalty kick in the 77th minute. With this victory, Al-Ittihad moved up to fourth place with 23 points, while Al-Diriyah remained on 15 points in eighth place.

In the second match, played at the Al-Majmaah Sports City Stadium, Al-Nassr took an early lead through Abdullah Al-Hamdani in the fourth minute. Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead in the 49th minute, and Brazilian forward Angelo Gabriel added a third in the 79th minute. Congolese forward Theo Bongonda scored Al-Faisaly’s only goal in the 66th minute.

With this win, Al-Nassr moved to second place with 25 points, while Al-Faisaly remained on seven points in 15th place. (End)
