Ramallah, October 23 (KUNA) -- Five Israeli occupation forces were injured on Friday morning in a shooting incident near the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank. The Israeli occupation’s Kan channel reported that two of the wounded were in critical condition, while the others suffered injuries ranging from moderate to light at a military checkpoint set up in front of the northern entrance to Hebron. It claimed that a firefight broke out between two Palestinian youths and occupation soldiers at the checkpoint, resulting in the injury of five soldiers. Occupation media published images allegedly from the scene, showing two youths lying on the ground, amid reports of their deaths, though no official Palestinian confirmation has been issued so far. The Israeli occupation forces closed military checkpoints surrounding the city at a time when the occupation is escalating its military measures in the West Bank and restricting the movement of Palestinians through more than 900 checkpoints and gates.
