Riyadh, 22 October (KUNA) -- The coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen on Thursday rejected as baseless and entirely unfounded the claims propagated by the so-called Houthi terrorist militia regarding alleged threats by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to target tribal and civilian gatherings, categorically denying them in their entirety.

In a statement, coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said these claims reflect, in both content and timing, continuous attempts to mislead public opinion and divert attention from the militia’s crises and practices, as well as its efforts to drag authentic Yemeni tribes into its conflicts.

The statement added that the Yemeni tribe remains an integral component and a firm pillar in Yemen’s social and historical fabric, serving as a bridge of brotherhood and connectivity between the Saudi and Yemeni peoples, who are bound by ties of religion, proximity, history, and shared destiny—ties deeper than those that can be undermined by disinformation campaigns or attempts to sow discord and hostility.

It reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s steadfast position regarding the security and stability of Yemen, and its commitment to preserving the fraternal and historical ties with the brotherly Yemeni people, thereby enhancing security and stability, safeguarding the interests of both peoples, and preventing the exploitation of Yemeni tribes or their involvement in conflicts that do not serve Yemenis’ aspirations for security, peace, and development.

The statement emphasized that the truth will remain clearer than disinformation campaigns, and that the bonds of brotherhood between the two brotherly peoples will remain firm in the face of all attempts at sedition and division. (End) KH N Sh / H S S
