Aden, October 22 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zoubi today, Thursday, praised Kuwait’s supportive stance toward Yemen, as well as its humanitarian contributions and development efforts aimed at assisting the Yemeni people. The Yemeni News Agency (SABA) reported that these remarks were made during a meeting between Minister al-Zoubi and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Yemen, Falah Al-Mutairi, to discuss recent developments in Yemen and the region, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordination between the two countries.
The agency quoted al-Zoubi as emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination between the two countries to facilitate the delivery of aid and expand cooperation in the fields of capacity building and institutional rehabilitation. She also highlighted recent escalations by the Houthi militias, describing them as a threat to Yemen’s security and that of the region, as well as to the safety of international navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait. She stressed the importance of unifying regional and international efforts to confront these threats and supporting the Yemeni government’s efforts to restore state institutions and achieve stability.
Furthermore, she pointed out the violations committed by the Houthi militias against civilians, including the recruitment and exploitation of children, attempts to alter educational curricula, and efforts to erase national identity, noting that such practices pose risks to Yemeni generations and the country’s future.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Mutairi reaffirmed Kuwait’s continued support for Yemen and the importance of coordination between the two countries to address current challenges, reiterating Kuwait’s commitment to continuing its support for the Yemeni people and strengthening the fraternal relations between the two nations.
