In a press statement, the Ministry said that the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, following search and investigative operations, apprehended a foreign-national truck driver in the Kabd area and discovered the narcotic tablets secretly concealed inside the spare tire using an insulating material to hide them.

The statement clarified that the suspect admitted to bringing the tablets from one of the neighboring countries through a border crossing while entering the country on a transit visa aboard the truck he was driving.
It noted that coordination was carried out with the drug enforcement agency in the country from which the suspect originated, and that the suspect and the seized items were handed over to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him.
The statement quoted Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef emphasizing that security agencies are continuing to dismantle drug smuggling networks, confront all their methods, and pursue those involved without leniency, stressing that protecting society and its members from this scourge is a security priority, and that any attempts to introduce drugs into the country will be met with resolute measures.
