Kuwait City, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Bar Association announced today that it will organize the Second Kuwaiti Bar Conference, titled “The Global Summit of Innovative Lawyers,” on Sunday under the patronage of Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Samait.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Bar Association President Dr. Khaled Al-Suwaidan said the conference aims to attract more than 4,000 participants from over 50 countries, featuring more than 40 speakers and over 12 specialized workshops, alongside participation from local and international legal institutions, organizations, and law firms.
Al-Suwaidan added that the conference will see the participation of a select group of legal and judicial leaders, experts, specialists, and leading global technology companies in the fields of legal technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. This will provide attendees with insights into the latest innovations and technical solutions that contribute to the development of law firms and enhance the efficiency of legal services.
He clarified that participating companies will showcase their latest applications and digital platforms in areas such as legal artificial intelligence, law firm management, smart legal research and drafting, cybersecurity, and data protection, as well as modern technologies supporting arbitration and electronic dispute resolution.
He noted that the conference aims to forecast the future of the legal profession in the context of digital transformation and to explore ways to transition from traditional legal practice to innovative practice, while upholding professional values, legal ethics, and client confidentiality.
Al-Suwaidan explained that the Association seeks, through the conference, to strengthen Kuwait’s position as a regional hub for legal dialogue and professional innovation, and to open new avenues for cooperation with global legal institutions and technology companies, leveraging international experiences to develop legal services and enhance the efficiency of the justice system.
He pointed out that the conference represents an opportunity for young lawyers to benefit from global expertise and acquire the future skills required by the legal job market, emphasizing that investing in the qualification and empowerment of national cadres with future-ready tools is among the Association’s top priorities.
He affirmed that the future of the legal profession does not rely on technology alone, but requires qualified lawyers who possess legal knowledge and the ability to leverage innovation without compromising the profession’s independence and human values. He stressed the Association’s continued efforts to develop the profession and enhance its international presence. (End) A.Y.S. / A.M.H.
