Manama, October 18 (KUNA) -- Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed today, Sunday, the deep ties and historic friendship bonds linking the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, as well as the mutual commitment to continue strengthening and expanding their cooperation across all fields in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of both countries and peoples.
The Bahrain News Agency reported that this came during the Bahraini king’s reception of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is visiting the kingdom to participate in the ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Russian Federation.
King Hamad expressed his appreciation for the important role played by Russian President Vladimir Putin in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect and coordinated coordination, as well as for the positions taken by the Russian Federation and the sincere feelings of solidarity expressed by the Russian president toward the Kingdom of Bahrain in response to the recent despicable Iranian attacks targeting Bahraini territory.
