Head of Yemeni Leadership Council Praises Egypt's Solidarity Stance with Saudi Arabia, Emphasizes Importance of Arab Unity

Aden, October 18 (KUNA) -- Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, today Sunday praised Egypt’s stance under President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, expressing solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting shared threats and safeguarding Arab national interests and security. In a post on his official account on the X platform, al-Alimi stated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s support for the Yemeni people in their struggle to restore state institutions constitutes a cornerstone for regional security and stability. He added that Cairo and Riyadh are the twin pillars of Arab national security, and that the unity of their positions strengthens the Arab nation’s power, resilience, and capacity to achieve the desired peace.

Earlier, on Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed his country’s readiness to take any measures requested by Saudi Arabia for its defense, in accordance with directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Speaking at a ceremony for the graduation of new cohorts from the Egyptian Military Academy, he said he would not hesitate to seek approval from the Egyptian Parliament if necessary.
