Aden, October 17 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Saturday the execution of 1,417 targeting operations during the past 24 hours as part of Operation “Fajr al-Yemen,” which neutralized approximately 800 Houthi fighters, killed or wounded, and destroyed or damaged more than 190 military vehicles and equipment.
In a statement, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said the operations were carried out using combat aircraft, drones, field artillery, and rocket launchers. They targeted Houthi militia concentrations and reinforcements, fortified positions, firing points, armored vehicles, and drone launch sites.
Al-Nazili added that the strikes disrupted the militia’s movements, hindered the deployment of its reserves to the front lines, and prevented it from achieving its field objectives. He noted that army units on the eastern front continued to clear positions and expand their control, successfully taking over new field sites.
In Ta’iz Governorate, Al-Nazili reported that the Armed Forces repelled waves of continuous attacks, while combat aircraft targeted militia positions and reinforcements with concentrated strikes.
He emphasized that the Armed Forces’ operations are limited to legitimate military targets in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, and called on residents in areas under Houthi control to protect their children from recruitment campaigns and being drawn into battles.
