Kuwait City, October 17 (KUNA) -- Al-Burqan handball team defeated Al-Nassr 30-13, while Al-Arabi beat Al-Salibikhat 24-23, in matches of the 17th round of the 2025/2026 Premier Handball League season. Meanwhile, the Kuwait Handball Federation expelled Al-Qadsia and Al-Salmiya from the league and annulled their results after they exceeded the permitted number of withdrawals in accordance with federation regulations.

Al-Burqan continued its push for a spot in international competitions following its victory over Al-Nassr, while Al-Arabi secured second place after narrowly defeating Al-Salibikhat by a single goal in a closely contested match.

On another front, the Kuwait Handball Federation expelled Al-Qadsia and Al-Salmiya from the Premier League after they withdrew from more than three matches, leading to the cancellation of their results and a recalculation of the standings for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season, in line with federation statutes and regulations.

According to the updated standings, Al-Kuwait remains at the top with 19 points, followed by Al-Arabi in second place with 16 points, and Al-Burqan in third with 15 points. Kazma is fourth with 14 points, Al-Salibikhat fifth with 6 points, and Al-Nassr last with 2 points.

The 18th round matches will kick off next Tuesday with two fixtures: Al-Salibikhat versus Al-Burqan, and Al-Kuwait versus Kazma, both to be held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex Hall. (End) H.M.Sh / M.A.H.A
