Beirut, October 16 (KUNA) -- The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, reaffirmed on Friday his country’s support for the steps being taken by the Lebanese state and for the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from occupied territories and their handover to the Lebanese Army.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman told journalists after meeting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the Presidential Palace that they discussed regional and international developments, particularly the situation in southern Lebanon and Israeli occupation practices toward Lebanon.
He added, “We discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to implement joint projects that contribute to the security, stability, and prosperity of the region.”
He noted that the energy sector is at the core of the interests of the sister Lebanese Republic, and that Qatar seeks to provide comprehensive solutions in this field.
He pointed out that during subsequent meetings with the Lebanese Prime Minister, the agreed-upon projects would be activated. (End) A.Y.B. / T.M.A.
