Aden, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday the execution of more than 1,250 targeting operations against military sites and capabilities belonging to Houthi militias over the past 24 hours, as part of the “Fajr al-Yemen” (Yemen’s Dawn) operation across various fronts, particularly in Ta’iz Governorate, which has been witnessing the fiercest ongoing battles for weeks.

In a statement, Brigadier General Majid al-Nazili, official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said that initial field assessments indicate the neutralization of approximately 700 Houthi militia fighters and the destruction or damage of more than 150 military vehicles, transport units, and combat and logistics assets.

He added that the operations were carried out using combat aircraft, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers, and sniper units, targeting forward defense positions, fortifications, trenches, firing positions, observation and reconnaissance points, command and control centers, and assembly and supply areas.

Al-Nazili clarified that the operations resulted in the destruction of militia fortifications and combat positions, and emphasized that operations would continue on the Ta’iz fronts to degrade Houthi capabilities and counter their attacks.

He stressed that the targeting focused on legitimate military objectives in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law and necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian objects, reaffirming that the Armed Forces would continue carrying out their missions in line with the operational plan.
