Brussels, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte affirmed that the Alliance will continue to work closely with its partners in the Black Sea region, adapting its deterrence and defense posture “as needed,” in light of security challenges and recent attacks targeting commercial vessels in the area. Rutte said in a post on the X platform on Thursday that he held a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev and Romanian President Nicușor Dan to discuss the security situation in the Black Sea and the latest attacks on commercial shipping. He added that the Alliance has strengthened its defensive posture along its eastern flank, including by enhancing air defense and anti-drone capabilities, emphasizing continued close cooperation with Black Sea partners and adjusting deterrence and defense measures in accordance with evolving security conditions.
