Moscow, October 14 (KUNA) -- The Russian presidency (the Kremlin) said on Wednesday that “efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis are being managed away from the spotlight.” Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as saying that “there is a great deal of media noise surrounding the Ukrainian settlement, and much of what is published on the matter has little to do with reality,” reaffirming Moscow’s continued approach of managing settlement efforts away from the “spotlight.” He added that U.S. President Donald Trump and American negotiators are making efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the crisis, while he characterized European countries as working in the opposite direction and seeking to prolong the war, warning that they might attempt to obstruct agreements that Moscow and Washington could reach.

Regarding the possibility of the United States reducing its military aid to Ukraine, Peskov clarified that Moscow is monitoring media reports on whether U.S. support will continue or whether restrictions will be imposed on the transfer of weapons, technologies, and intelligence information to Kyiv, noting that it is too early to draw comprehensive conclusions on the matter.

On reports concerning restrictions on the operation of the Starlink satellite communications system in Ukraine, Peskov stated that the Kremlin possesses no information beyond what has been published in the media, and considered it preferable not to use advanced technologies, including Starlink, for military purposes.

In a related development, he pointed to ongoing discussions regarding Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire in the energy sector, confirming that no new international meetings on the Ukrainian settlement have been agreed upon or currently appear on the agenda.

On another note, Peskov emphasized the importance of strengthening cybersecurity amid efforts by some countries to employ modern technologies for military purposes, stressing Russia’s need to be prepared to face growing challenges in this field.

Regarding frozen Russian assets, he affirmed that Moscow would engage in “no-compromise” battles to recover them, signaling its determination to reclaim assets frozen abroad. (End) D.A.N./N.A.A.
