Saudi Arabia: Early warning issued for emergencies in Riyadh and Al-Kharj

Riyadh, 14 October (KUNA) — The Saudi Civil Defense announced on Wednesday the activation of an alert via the National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Situations in Riyadh city and Al-Kharj governorate to warn of a hazard. Through its official account on the X social media platform, the Saudi Civil Defense urged the public to follow safety guidelines and official instructions, remain calm, and immediately seek shelter in the nearest safe location inside a building or an interior room away from windows, staying there until the danger passes. It advised against leaving homes or buildings, avoiding open areas and glass, and refraining from standing on balconies or rooftops. The Civil Defense also called on citizens to contact the emergency number (998) if they observe a hazard and to follow instructions issued by the competent authorities through official channels.
