UEFA Champions League: Arsenal defeats Lille 3-0

London, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- English club Arsenal defeated French visitors Lille 3-0 in a clean sheet victory in the second round of the UEFA Champions League football tournament, played on Tuesday at London’s Emirates Stadium. Despite Arsenal’s clear dominance from the moment German referee Felix Zwayer blew the opening whistle, the Gunners failed to break through Lille’s defense, and the first half ended goalless.

After the restart, Arsenal increased their pressure, and their efforts were rewarded in the 64th minute when Dutch defender Jurriën Timber scored the opening goal. Just three minutes later, English striker Eberchi Eze doubled the lead, and his compatriot Bukayo Saka added a third in the 71st minute.
