Washington, Oct 13 (KUNA) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday condemned the Houthi militias for behaving in a highly objectionable manner, asserting that their conduct is “unacceptable” and warning that he would not forget it. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “I thought the Houthis had learned their lesson a year ago when we bombed them with overwhelming force, and then we stopped at their request.” He added, “They remained silent for a long time, but they have resurfaced, perhaps incited by Iran, that failed state lacking naval and air forces and suffering from the world’s worst economy, with an inflation rate of 301 percent, as it launches malicious attacks against Saudi Arabia and deliberately seeks to drive up oil prices.” He further suggested that these attacks “may” be linked to the upcoming U.S. midterm elections, stressing that “this behavior is unacceptable and someone should make it clear to them that I am not a candidate in the elections, as I have already won decisively (in the presidential election), but I will still be around after the elections.” In remarks to reporters prior to the post, Trump responded to a question about whether he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman following the Houthi attacks on Riyadh airport, saying, “Yes, I did,” but he did not elaborate on the content of the call. In a related development, the U.S. president told reporters, “We will make a decision regarding Iran very soon.” (End) R.S.R / R.J
