Brussels, October 13 (KUNA) -- The European Union expressed its solidarity with the United Kingdom on Tuesday regarding the threat targeting the British RAF Fairford air base, following London’s announcement that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is most likely behind the threat. In a statement, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said, “Iran’s campaign of intimidation and destabilization extends beyond the Middle East,” affirming her alignment with her counterparts in condemning Iran’s hostile activities. Kallas added that the EU has already placed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on its list of terrorist organizations and imposed sanctions on Iranian officials for undermining freedom of navigation and for serious human rights violations. She emphasized that the United Kingdom is a close partner of the EU, underscoring the bloc’s solidarity with and support for the UK. (End) A.R.N. / N.S.A.
