Aden, October 13 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council warned today, Tuesday, against communicating with Houthi militias, financing their activities, or assisting them, emphasizing that national laws prescribe penalties, including the death penalty, for crimes endangering the state’s security and independence and for aiding the enemy.
In a statement reported by the state-run Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Council stressed that communicating with Houthi militias, or providing them with information and resources that enable them to target the state, citizens, the armed forces, and security personnel, warrants legal accountability according to the nature of the acts and crimes committed.
The Council called on citizens and members of state institutions and agencies to report facts and information related to these crimes through official channels, directing relevant authorities to protect whistleblowers and witnesses and to ensure the confidentiality of their information in accordance with the law.
It directed security and military agencies and judicial police officers to take immediate action regarding incidents supported by serious evidence, to collect and preserve evidence, to take legal measures, and to initiate and complete investigations under the supervision of the competent public and military prosecution, without delay, and to refer those against whom sufficient evidence exists to the competent judiciary.
The Council emphasized that official, military, or security status, or influence, does not exempt anyone from legal accountability, affirming that measures would be taken against anyone proven to exploit their position or resources to serve Houthi militias or to undermine national defense capabilities.
It commended the efforts of the armed forces and security agencies in protecting citizens and consolidating security and stability in liberated governorates, calling for heightened vigilance, enhanced coordination, and strengthened protection of vital facilities, sites, information, and defense secrets, as well as countering infiltration attempts.
It affirmed the continued pursuit of perpetrators of crimes targeting the Republic, the country’s sovereignty, and citizens’ security, and the enforcement of judicial rulings issued against them in accordance with the law, stressing that protecting the home front and strengthening state institutions are an essential part of the struggle to restore state institutions and achieve security, stability, and peace.
