Islamabad, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- The Pakistani military announced on Tuesday the successful test launch of a long-range hypersonic ballistic missile, the Fateh-2. In a statement, the military’s Public Relations Department said the missile is equipped with advanced navigation systems and modern avionics, and is capable of striking targets with high precision and penetrating missile defense systems “thanks to its unique flight trajectory and maneuverability features.” The statement added that the missile’s extended range would further enhance the Pakistani military’s ability to reach long-range targets and strike deep into enemy territory. It noted that the launch was witnessed by the commander of the Army Strategic Forces Command, along with senior army officers, scientists, and engineers. On their part, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief General Asim Munir, and commanders of the armed forces’ branches congratulated the scientists and engineers on the success of the missile launch test.
