Beirut, October 13 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliamentary Union condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias on several airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing its full solidarity with the Kingdom. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Union said it “condemns the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias, which targeted King Khalid Airport, Abha Airport, and King Fahd International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as a Saudi Airlines aircraft, resulting in casualties among citizens and residents, as well as material damage, in criminal attacks targeting civilian assets and threatening the security and safety of passengers and staff.” It stressed that targeting airports, civilian aircraft, and vital facilities constitutes a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter, emphasizing that “the continuation of these terrorist attacks necessitates a firm international stance that puts an end to such practices and prevents their recurrence.” The Arab Parliamentary Union expressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for the Kingdom in all measures it takes to protect its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents, commending the significant efforts made to respond to these attacks and to protect civilians and vital facilities. Reaffirming that “the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the region,” the Arab Parliamentary Union called on the international community, foremost among them the UN Security Council, to “fulfill their responsibilities and adopt a decisive stance against these terrorist attacks, work to halt them, hold perpetrators and their supporters accountable, and counter all actions that threaten the security and stability of Arab countries and the safety of civilians.” (End) A.Y.B. / N.S.A.
