Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah emphasized the Capital Governorate’s commitment to monitoring development and service projects that contribute to improving the quality of services for citizens and residents, stressing the importance of coordination and cooperation among relevant authorities to ensure that development works proceed according to established plans, while taking into account the needs of stall owners and maintaining the continuity of their commercial activities.

He noted that the East Fish Market is part of Kuwait’s historical memory and maritime heritage, underscoring the importance of striking a balance between preserving the market’s heritage character and keeping pace with development and modernization requirements.

He praised the efforts of the implementing company and the participating government entities in the project, commending their collaboration in developing this vital facility, and expressed his hope that the development works would present the market in a civilized manner that reflects its historical significance and meets the aspirations of its visitors.
