Moscow, October 13 (KUNA) -- The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that its forces targeted defense industry facilities, logistics centers, and transport infrastructure in Ukraine, as well as a dry cargo ship and a dual-use vessel in the Black Sea. The Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted the ministry in a statement confirming that the armed forces carried out coordinated strikes in the evening of the previous day using precision-guided weapons from land and drones against defense industry facilities, logistics centers, railway infrastructure, ports, and ships involved in transporting military shipments to Ukraine. The ministry said the strikes targeted a workshop at a facility in the capital, Kyiv, which includes production lines for long-range missiles and drones, noting that a locomotive maintenance depot in Kyiv was damaged. It added that the facility is used to repair and overhaul railway cars designated for transporting military cargo and dual-use goods, which it said were intended to support Ukrainian forces. In Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region, the ministry pointed to the targeting of a logistics center in the town of Ternivka, used to store dual-use shipments intended to supply the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as a drone warehouse in the town of Mishkove Bohorodychne in the same region. Regarding maritime transport, it stated that Russian forces targeted a dry cargo ship in the Dnipro-Buh estuary that was carrying military and dual-use shipments to the port of Mykolaiv. These strikes come amid a series of recent Russian announcements targeting cargo ships and logistics centers used to transport or store supplies intended for Ukrainian forces. (End) D.A.N. / F.S.
