Riyadh, October 12 (KUNA) – Saudi club Al Nassr defeated Uzbekistan’s Neftchi 3-1 on Monday at the Al Olab Park stadium in a match that was part of the second round of the West Zone in the AFC Champions League Elite.
Brazilian striker Angelo Gabriel opened the scoring for Al Nassr in the 33rd minute, before Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo added a second goal in the 42nd minute, ending the first half with the Saudi side leading 2-0.
In the second half, Neftchi reduced the deficit through player Alisher Odilov in the 51st minute, before Al Nassr restored their two-goal advantage when Anvar Ghofurov scored an own goal in the 78th minute.
The match also saw Neftchi’s Ikrom Alipbayev sent off with a red card in the 56th minute after a heavy challenge on Al Nassr’s French player Mohamed Simakan.
