Kuwait City, 12 October (KUNA) – The Kuwait Municipality affirmed today that safeguarding state property is a shared social responsibility, not limited to temporary campaigns to remove encroachments, but rather a matter to be addressed on a continuous basis.
Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the central team at the Municipality Director General’s Office, stressed in a press statement, made on the sidelines of a supervisory tour in Hawalli Governorate, that the municipality’s campaign “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments,” launched last June, plays a fundamental role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all.
Al-Jalawi explained that the supervisory team removed an unlicensed structure (a diwaniya) erected near the sidewalk and utilities after the legally prescribed period had expired, noting that the violator had been warned but failed to comply.
On the other hand, he commended the cooperation of several property owners who had committed violations, highlighting their prompt response in voluntarily removing their infractions. He called on other violators to rectify their violations before supervisory teams reach them.
Al-Jalawi praised the significant role played by government entities and their participation in the campaign since its inception, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs.
He stated that the municipality encourages citizens and residents to follow its official social media accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
