London, October 11 (KUNA) – Manchester City continued their perfect start to the new football season with a deserved 3-0 victory over hosts Liverpool in the sixth-round Premier League clash, played today, Sunday, at Anfield. After a goalless first half with slight control by City, Erling Haaland, the outstanding Norwegian striker, scored the opening goal in the 65th minute, followed three minutes later by his Belgian teammate Jeremy Doku for the second. As City tightened their grip on the match, French midfielder Ryan Cherki added the third goal with 12 minutes remaining in regular time, securing all three points and lifting City’s tally to 18 points from a perfect record in six matches. Liverpool, meanwhile, remained ninth with nine points.

The victory comes as the English Premier League announced last month that an independent investigation panel found Manchester City guilty of charges related to breaching numerous league regulations, particularly those concerning financial rules.
