Saudi Foreign Minister Discusses Regional and International Developments with EU High Representative

Riyadh, October 11 (KUNA) -- Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks today, Sunday, with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas on regional and international developments of mutual interest. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call received by Prince Faisal bin Farhan from Kaja Kallas, during which they reviewed the cooperative relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the European Union. The call also addressed the Houthi militia’s terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport, with the EU High Representative expressing the Union’s condemnation of this terrorist act and emphasizing that random attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be justified. Kallas reaffirmed the European Union’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing the injured a swift recovery. During the call, she stressed the need to make efforts to counter regional escalation and highlighted the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in maritime defense to ensure the security and safety of waterways in the region.
