UK Defense Minister: Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia constitute a dangerous escalation
London, Oct 11 (KUNA) -- British Defense Secretary Wes Streeting affirmed on Sunday that Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia constitute a dangerous escalation and a worrying sign of the growing aggressive pattern. In a press statement, Streeting said that the Houthi militia’s targeting of civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, particularly King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, amounts to “a most abhorrent act and an entirely unacceptable operation.” He stressed that this is among the reasons driving the United Kingdom to provide support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including air defense systems and aerial refueling operations. Streeting emphasized the need to end the conflict and halt Houthi operations against civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced yesterday that 12 people were killed and 309 others injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. (End) M.R.N. / N.S.A.
