Foreign Ministers of Bahrain and Yemen discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation

Manama, October 11 (KUNA) – Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held talks today, Sunday, with Yemeni Minister of Foreigners and Expatriates Affairs Dr. Afrah Al-Zoubi on the deep fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples, and on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation to serve their shared objectives. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the two ministers discussed, during a telephone call, the continuation of coordination and consultation between their countries within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s membership on the UN Security Council, regarding the situation in the Republic of Yemen under discussion by the Council. The statement noted that the two sides addressed the ongoing heinous attacks carried out by the Houthi militias against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and their deliberate targeting of civilian facilities and airports in Abha, Jizan, Najran, Riyadh, as well as Aden Airport, which exposes civil aviation to serious risks in blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation. Views were also exchanged on the strenuous efforts undertaken by the legitimate Yemeni government to extend its sovereignty over Yemeni territories in the face of the militias, and to restore security and stability, preserve Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and realize its people’s aspirations for security, development, and prosperity.
