Aden, October 11 (KUNA) -- UN Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg strongly condemned on Sunday the attacks carried out by Houthi militias against civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including the strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed 12 people and injured more than 300 others. In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Grundberg said the recent attacks followed earlier strikes on Riyadh and Abha airports, which also resulted in civilian casualties. He warned that these attacks constitute a serious escalation and a grave threat to regional security, perpetuate the cycle of violence, and complicate peace efforts in Yemen, calling on the Houthis to halt the attacks and respect international humanitarian law, including the prohibition on targeting civilians and civilian objects. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation had previously announced that 12 people were killed and 309 others injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport yesterday.
