US Secretary of State Strongly Condemns Houthi Militia Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Washington, Oct 11 (KUNA) -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio strongly condemned the terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the deaths of many innocent civilians, including an American citizen. In a post on his X platform page on Saturday, Rubio said, “The United States strongly condemns the recent attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi group on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed many innocents, including an American citizen.” He added that these heinous attacks show “a blatant disregard” for the lives of innocent civilians and must stop immediately. Rubio reaffirmed U.S. solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people, expressing his condolences to the victims and their families. U.S. President Donald Trump had described the attack on King Khalid International Airport as “a terrible thing,” stating that Washington is considering the option of participating in military strikes against the Houthi militia in Yemen. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that 12 people, including an American citizen, were killed and 309 others injured in the assault on King Khalid International Airport.
