OIC Secretary-General Condemns Attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh

Riyadh, 10 October (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, today, Saturday, strongly condemned the attack carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which is an extension of previous attacks that resulted in the martyrdom of three Saudi citizens. In a statement, the Secretary-General said that the recurrence of such attacks constitutes a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as a threat to the safety of civilians and the security of air navigation. He called on the international community to take a firm stance to put an end to these terrorist acts. He expressed his sincere condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on them and to grant the injured a swift recovery. He reaffirmed the Organisation’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its full support for the measures it is taking to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
