GCC Secretary-General Condemns Houthi Militia's Attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh

Riyadh, 10 October (KUNA) – Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Bedaiwi today, Saturday, strongly condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous terrorist attacks launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. In a statement, Al-Bedaiwi said that the repeated targeting of this civilian facility embodies a criminal approach aimed at terrorizing innocent people and endangering the lives of travelers and staff, in blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. He stressed that these attacks and the transformation of civilian airports into targets constitute a highly dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of civil aviation and necessitates a firm international response to deter such Houthi practices. Al-Bedaiwi affirmed that GCC member states stand united in full support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete backing of all measures it takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty, as well as to protect the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory. He emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the GCC states, and any threat to it affects the entire Gulf system. (End) A.S. / F.A.S.
