Bahrain Praises UAE National Guard's Efforts to Rescue Oil Tanker Crew in the Arabian Gulf

Manama, October 10 (KUNA) -- The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Coast Guard unit of the National Guard of the United Arab Emirates, a fraternal state, in rescuing members of the crew of an Asian-flagged oil tanker after a fire broke out on board in the waters of the Arabian Gulf. In a statement, the ministry praised the competence of the UAE National Guard’s Coast Guard unit, its rapid response to maritime incidents and emergencies, and its commitment to providing necessary first aid to survivors, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and enhancing security and safety in international waters. It reiterated Bahrain’s call to strengthen regional and international cooperation to protect commercial vessels and maritime crews, ensure the security and safety of maritime navigation and freedom of passage through vital sea lanes, and thereby contribute to enhancing global energy security, facilitating international trade flows, and consolidating regional and international stability.
