Beirut, October 10 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun stressed on Saturday his support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of threats to its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Lebanese presidency conveyed in a statement that Aoun said the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is “an integral part of the security and stability of the entire region,” and that the attacks constitute a “major threat” to Saudi security and regional stability. Aoun reaffirmed Lebanon’s full solidarity with the Kingdom, both in leadership and among its people, and his country’s steadfast support in confronting any actions that threaten its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Lebanese president reiterated his condemnation of the attacks targeting the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its air facilities, and its vital infrastructure, foremost among them King Khalid International Airport. He noted that respecting the sovereignty of states and prohibiting the targeting of civilian and vital facilities “constitute a fundamental pillar for preserving regional stability.” Aoun also highlighted the deep historical fraternal ties between Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his country’s continuous commitment to strengthening and developing these relations in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly peoples and regional stability.
