Paris, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron stressed on Friday the importance of Franco-German cooperation in bolstering Europe’s industrial, technological, and space capabilities, during a visit by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the French city of Bordeaux. Macron said in a post on the X platform that Steinmeier’s visit, accompanied by European industrial leaders, included three sites that reflect integrated European ambitions in space and technology. He explained that ArianeGroup, through its Ariane 6 rocket, is enhancing Europe’s ability to achieve independent access to space, while the Franco-German company The Exploration Company is developing the reusable Nix capsule, contributing to shaping the future of space transport. He added that the Megajoule Laser facility embodies the application of scientific and technological advances in strategic areas linked to deterrence and sovereignty capabilities. Macron underscored that France and Germany are working together to build a more sovereign, competitive, and autonomous Europe capable of making its own decisions and determining its own future.
