Beirut, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Public Health Emergency Operations Center under Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday that six people were injured in an attack carried out by Israeli occupation forces targeting a town in the Hermel district of northern Lebanon. In a statement, the center said the Israeli forces’ attack occurred around the town of Housh Sayyid Ali, injuring five Syrian nationals, including two women, as well as one Lebanese citizen, who were all taken to a hospital for necessary medical treatment. In a separate security development, the Lebanese Army command announced in a statement that it had foiled two smuggling operations involving weapons and narcotics across the Lebanese-Syrian border, arresting one suspect following an armed clash in the Jird Arsal area, with no casualties reported. The statement added that another army unit thwarted a weapons-smuggling operation originating from Syrian territory in the Qasr area of Hermel district, seizing a quantity of rocket-propelled grenades and approximately 24 kilograms of high-explosive TNT.
