Qatar strongly condemns attacks on King Khalid International Airport and Saudi Airlines plane

Doha, 9 October (KUNA) -- Qatar today strongly condemned the Houthi group’s attacks on King Khalid International Airport in the neighboring Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which targeted airport facilities and a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft, resulting in casualties, injuries, and material damage. In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as a serious violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security, as well as to the safety of civilians, civilian objects, and air navigation. The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for the measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests, emphasizing that Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and of the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The ministry also conveyed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
