Manama, October 9 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and deep outrage today, Friday, over the two terrorist attacks carried out by Houthi militias that targeted facilities at King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the deaths of three Saudi citizens and injuring several citizens and residents.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs deemed these heinous attacks a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter, as well as a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability and the safety of civil aviation, in accordance with the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.

The ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the protection of its citizens and residents, as well as its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

It expressed sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the families and relatives of the victims, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on them and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Bahrain’s call to the UN Security Council to take a firm stance to halt the repeated Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian targets, facilities, and airports, to hold the perpetrators accountable, and to ensure the full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, notably Resolutions 2216 and 2817, thereby guaranteeing the protection of civilians and the preservation of regional and international peace and security.
