Pakistani Prime Minister Condemns Houthi Militia Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Islamabad, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned on Friday the repeated terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the targeting of King Khalid and Abha international airports, which resulted in injuries and casualties among civilians.

In a statement, Sharif praised “the vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by the Saudi armed forces and coalition forces in intercepting a number of ballistic missiles, as well as their relentless efforts to protect innocent lives and safeguard the security of the Kingdom.” He added that “Pakistan stands firmly and in full solidarity with the leadership and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

He affirmed that “Pakistan’s commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of the Kingdom is a firm and unwavering commitment, in line with the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense,” while renewing “full support for the legitimate right of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to defend its people, protect its cities, and preserve its vital infrastructure.”

He stressed that “the Houthi militia must immediately cease these attacks,” adding that “Pakistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting these threats.” (End) S.B.K. / T.M.A.
