Manama, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- The Coordination Committee on Economic, Energy, Trade, and Industrial Affairs, one of the five committees established under the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council, held a meeting today, Thursday, via video conferencing. The session was co-chaired by Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim.

Bahrain’s state news agency, BNA, quoted Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as affirming that the deep-rooted historical fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are based on close ties and distinguished strategic partnerships across various fields. He pointed out that Bahraini-Saudi relations are witnessing continuous development and prosperity at all levels, thanks to the patronage and attention of Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Bahraini Minister of Finance and National Economy also highlighted the pivotal role played by the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council, chaired by Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and his brother, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, in further advancing bilateral relations toward greater cooperation and integration, and in steering them toward more advanced horizons that bring benefits and prosperity to both countries and their fraternal peoples.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the latest developments in implementing the initiatives and recommendations adopted within the committee’s work, alongside monitoring the outcomes of joint working teams on priority projects and programs in the sectors covered by the committee. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop strategic partnerships in the fields of economy, energy, trade, and industry, in order to achieve shared objectives and aspirations, as well as addressing several topics of mutual interest.
