Manama, October 8 (KUNA) – Bahrain’s Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, Yousef Khalaf, emphasized today, Thursday, the importance of building on the achievements attained in the development of Gulf labour markets, and of supporting various initiatives to realize shared aspirations for greater integration, in line with a unified vision that harnesses national capacities and bolsters social stability and security. This was stated in a speech delivered by the Bahraini minister while chairing the 12th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Labour, attended by the labour ministers of GCC member states and by Khalid Al-Sunaidi, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC Secretariat General. At the outset of the meeting, the Bahraini minister welcomed guests from the member states to the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to support and advance joint Gulf efforts across various tracks by unifying initiatives and coordinating policies to develop labour markets, empower national talent, and create more flexible and sustainable work environments capable of keeping pace with rapid changes.
