Kuwait City, Oct 8 (KUNA) – Commander of the Kuwait Air Force, Major General and Pilot Fahd Al-Kharinj, affirmed on Thursday that Kuwait-Egyptian relations represent a solid model of ties binding Arab peoples through love, loyalty, and a shared destiny. He praised the fraternal stances and the rich history of cooperation and cohesion between the two brotherly countries.

This came during a speech delivered by the Air Force Commander at a ceremony hosted by the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait to mark the 53rd anniversary of the October 6 victories, attended by Kuwait’s Undersecretary of Defense, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and a number of accredited diplomatic mission heads.

Major General Al-Kharinj stated that October 6 will remain an immortal day in the history of Egypt and the Arab nation, a day to recall the heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces and the sacrifices of the righteous martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the land, dignity, and national pride. He invoked the souls of Egyptian and Kuwaiti martyrs, as well as those who contributed and sacrificed their lives in defense of justice and dignity, praying to God Almighty to envelop them in His boundless mercy.

He emphasized that Kuwait-Egyptian relations are characterized by enduring brotherhood, shared stances, and a history rich in cooperation and cohesion, highlighting the depth of military cooperation between the two countries.

He noted that Exercise "Yarmouk" is among the most important joint exercises between the Kuwait Air Force and the Egyptian Armed Forces. It serves to commemorate and embody the heroism and sacrifices offered by the Kuwaiti Yarmouk Brigade and its righteous martyrs alongside their brothers in the Egyptian Armed Forces during the glorious October War.

For his part, Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Colonel Mohamed Abdelgawad, affirmed that the Kuwaiti position, both government and people, supporting Egypt during the October War embodied the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between the two countries. He pointed out that the participation of Kuwaiti pilots alongside their Egyptian brothers helped cement a national and Arab epic remembered by history.

Colonel Abdelgawad said in his speech that Kuwait’s support for Egypt was not limited to a specific aspect but stemmed from a noble principle of standing by Arab justice. He stressed that Kuwaiti blood mingled with Egyptian blood on the battlefields, making Kuwait’s participation in the October victory a shining page in the history of relations between the two countries.

He added that the achievements and common interests realized between Kuwait and Egypt over the past decades reflect the importance of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly military cooperation and the exchange of expertise, which contribute to building bridges of trust and understanding, enhancing a culture of peace, and confronting phenomena of violence and extremism.

Abdelgawad clarified that the anniversary of the October 6 victories represents an occasion to recall the sacrifices of the valiant Egyptian Army and the heroism it achieved in the pursuit of victory. He emphasized that the Egyptian Armed Forces have proven their ability to protect the nation and defend its assets, and remain capable of facing challenges and safeguarding the state’s interests amid the rapidly changing and escalating challenges facing the region and the world.
