Pakistani Chief of Army Staff and Bahraini Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Security and Bilateral Defense Cooperation

Islamabad, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Army Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir held talks today with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the regional security situation and bilateral defense cooperation. The Pakistani Army’s Public Relations Department said in a statement that the meeting took place at the army headquarters in Rawalpindi, on the sidelines of Al Zayani’s current visit to Pakistan. The statement clarified that the discussions covered issues of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and areas of bilateral defense and security. Munir underscored the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, rooted in shared values and mutual respect, and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain, particularly in the fields of defense and security. The statement added that Al Zayani, for his part, praised the professionalism and operational readiness of the Pakistani armed forces, and expressed determination to strengthen bilateral ties, commending Pakistan’s contributions to enhancing regional peace and stability.
